Teaser Trailer zu “127 Hours”, Danny Boyle’s erstem Film nach seinem Oscar-Gewinn für “Slumdog Millionaire”. Der Film beruht auf der wahren Geschichte eines verunglückten Bergsteigers, und obwohl sich anhand der ersten bewegten Bilder noch über den Film sagen lässt, landet er allein wegen Danny Boyle und Hauptdarsteller James Franco natürlich auf der Watchlist.

“Trailers & Musicvideos” wäre derzeit wohl der passendere Untertitel für Cinematze.de, doch das ändert sich auch irgendwann wieder, versprochen (spätestens nach absolvierter Diplomprüfung Ende September, für die ich gerade mehr oder weniger ausgiebig lerne). Brad Anderson hat dank “Session 9″ und “The Machinist” mehr als nur einen Stein im Brett, daher bin ich auch auf seinen neuen Film, “Vanishing On 7th Street”, äußerst gespannt. Der Trailer lässt das ganze wie eine Mischung von “The Omega Man” und “Pitch Black” aussehen und bietet durchaus einige richtig gute Szenen.

Erster Trailer zu Casey Affleck’s (ernst gemeinten?) Dokumentation “I’m Still Here” über die Verwandlung von Joaquin Phoenix vom Oscarpreisträger zum zotteligen Rapper. Werde ich mir definitiv ansehen, alleine schon um herauszufinden, was wirklich hinter der ganzen Sache steckt. Das oben zu sehende Poster zum Film ist für mich übrigens eines der bislang besten in diesem Jahr.

“Ballet + WTF” – so lautet das extrem kurze aber dennoch treffende Fazit von @MmeSchnuerschuh zum “Black Swan” Trailer. Viel mehr muss man dazu eigentlich auch nicht sagen, denn wenn Darren Aronofsky Regie führt und noch dazu Natalie Portman, Bincent Cassel und Mila Kunis in den Hauptrollen zu sehen sind, herrscht für den geneigte Filmfreund ohnehin Anschaupflicht.
BLACK SWAN follows the story of Nina (Portman), a ballerina in a New York City ballet company whose life, like all those in her profession, is completely consumed with dance. She lives with her retired ballerina mother Erica (Barbara Hershey) who zealously supports her daughter’s professional ambition. When artistic director Thomas Leroy (Vincent Cassel) decides to replace prima ballerina Beth MacIntyre (Winona Ryder) for the opening production of their new season, Swan Lake, Nina is his first choice. But Nina has competition: a new dancer, Lily (Kunis), who impresses Leroy as well. Swan Lake requires a dancer who can play both the White Swan with innocence and grace, and the Black Swan, who represents guile and sensuality. Nina fits the White Swan role perfectly but Lily is the personification of the Black Swan. As the two young dancers expand their rivalry into a twisted friendship, Nina begins to get more in touch with her dark side with a recklessness that threatens to destroy her.
Die ersten Reviews vom Fantasy Filmfest sind angesichts der hohen Erwartungen an den Film eher verhalten, aber ich bin weiterhin zuversichtlich, dass “Monsters” eines meiner persönlichen Highlights des Filmjahres 2010 wird. Der neue Teaser-Trailer bekräftigt diese Annahme jedenfalls.
Schöner Trailer zu “Nice Guy Johnny”, dem neuen Film von Eddie Burns. Die Atmosphäre passt hervorragend zu den vielleicht letzten warmen Tagen dieses irgendwie dann doch viel zu kurzen Sommers. Außerdem freue ich mich auf ein Wiedersehen mit Kerry Bishé, die als Lucy eines der wenigen Highlights des missglückten Scrubs Reboots war.

Enter Uncle Terry, a rascally womanizer set on turning a weekend in the Hamptons into an eye-opening fling for his nephew. Nice guy Johnny’s not interested, of course, but then he meets the lovely Brooke, who challenges Johnny to make the toughest decision of is life.

Endlich draußen: Das heiß erwartete neue Mixtape von Mac Miller, K.I.D.S – Kickin’ Incredibly Dope Shit. Die Erwartungen waren hoch und wurden größtenteils auch erfüllt. Natürlich besitzt nicht jeder Track das Hit-Potential eines “Nikes On My Feet”, aber das Level wird konstant hoch gehalten. Im Vergleich zu seinen beiden bisherigen Mixtapes hat ein deutlicher Qualitätssprung in Sachen Produktion stattgefunden, der zugleich für mehr Abwechslung sorgt. Runterladen, aufdrehen, abfeiern!

Ergänzend hier noch das Video zu “Traffic in the Sky” und “Don’t Mind If I Do”, womit die Reihe “Mac Miller – A Day In The Life” dann auch komplett wäre.
In der Regel ist es ja Hollywood, das sich erfolgreiche asiatische oder europäische Filme ausguckt um dann – meist grottige – Remakes daraus zu machen. Im Fall von “A Woman, A Gun And A Noodle Shop” verhält es sich jedoch genau umgekehrt: Der Film von “Hero” und “House of Flying Daggers” Regisseur Zhang Yimou basiert auf “Blood Simple”, dem Klassiker der Coen Brüder aus dem Jahr 1984. Nach dem schrägen, quietschbunten Trailer zu urteilen, könnte das Unterfangen durchaus von Erfolg gekrönt sein.
Wang is a miserable yet cunning noodle shop owner in a desert town in China. Feeling neglected, Wang’s wife secretly goes out with Li, one of his employees. A timid man, Li reluctantly keeps the gun the landlady bought for ‘killing her husband later’. However, not a single move they make escapes the boss’s notice, and he decides to bribe patrol officer Zhang to kill the illicit couple. It looks like a perfect plan: the affair will come to a cruel but satisfying end… or so he thinks, but the equally wicked Zhang has an agenda of his own that will lead to even more violence…
Die doch eher unoriginelle Story von “Skyline” spricht zwar nicht unbedingt für den Sci-Fi-Thriller:
In Skyline, strange lights descend on the city of Los Angeles, drawing people outside like moths to a flame where an extraterrestrial force threatens to swallow the entire human population off the face of the Earth.
Auf der Comic-Con in San Diego hat der Film allerdings gehörig Buzz generiert, die Riege der Schauspieler liest sich gut und die letzte Szene des Trailers ist zugegebenermaßen ziemlich cool, weshalb ich die Hoffnung hege, dass “Skyline” zusammen mit “Monsters” der neue “Indie-Sci-Fi” Welle, die “District 9″ und “Moon” im vergangenen Jahr losgetreten haben, gebührend weiter tragen.

Ich gebe zu, der Trailer zu “Daydream Nation” ist nicht mehr als eine ziemlich miese Szenenmontage, doch dank Kat Dennings sowie Musik von Beach House und Emily Haines landet er dennoch im Blog.
