A Better Life Trailer

Gelungener Trailer zum Low Budget Vater-Sohn-Drama “A Better Life” (ursprünglich “The Gardener”) von Regisseur Chris Weitz, der mit Filmen wie “About A Boy”, “The Golden Compass” oder “New Moon” eigentlich eher für größere Produktionen bekannt ist.

A gardener (Demián Bichir) in East Los Angeles struggles to keep his son away from gangs & immigration agents while also traveling across town to perform landscaping work for the city’s wealthiest landowners.
The film looks at the relationship between illegal immigrant Carlos Galindo and his teenage son, Luis. When Carlos’ truck is stolen, the father is powerless to turn to law enforcement, but the crisis brings him closer to his potentially wayward son.

Paul Red Band Trailer

Ich bin zwar immer noch keineswegs überzeugt von Greg Mottola’s Alien-Komödie “Paul”, allerdings ist die Red Band Variante eine deutliche Steigerung gegenüber dem ersten Trailer.

Simon Pegg and Nick Frost reunite for the comedy adventure Paul as two sci-fi geeks whose pilgrimage takes them to America’s UFO heartland. While there, they accidentally meet an alien who brings them on an insane road trip that alters their universe forever. For the past 60 years, an alien named Paul (voiced by Seth Rogen) has been hanging out at a top-secret military base. For reasons unknown, the space-travelling smart ass decides to escape the compound and hop on the first vehicle out of town—a rented RV containing Earthlings Graeme Willy (Pegg) and Clive Collings (Frost). Chased by federal agents and the fanatical father of a young woman that they accidentally kidnap, Graeme and Clive hatch a fumbling escape plan to return Paul to his mother ship. And as two nerds struggle to help, one little green man might just take his fellow outcasts from misfits to intergalactic heroes.

blacktino Trailer

Sad, fat, black, latino, nerd. It doesn’t get any worse than that.

Aufmerksamkeit der einschlägigen Blogs? Check. Weltpremiere auf dem SXSW? Check. Den Filmtitel leicht prätentiös absichtlich klein schreiben? Check. – “blacktino” hat ohne Frage das Zeug dazu, the next big thing in Sachen Indie-Komödie zu werden, und der Trailer hinterlässt bei mir einen durchaus positiven Eindruck.

A dark teen comedy about an overweight half-black, half-hispanic nerd named Stefan Daily. Struggling to find his place in a mostly white high school, he finds sanctuary amongst the social outcasts in the theatre department. Like all great teen comedies, it ensures that the torch of “teen angst” continues to burn bright.

Ex Drummer in voller länge online bei ARTE+7

Gestern Abend hatte ich es noch als spontanen TV Tipp gezwitschert, heute Morgen entdeckte ich dann mit Freude in meinem Feedreader, dass der fantastische “Ex Drummer” für die nächten 7 Tage online bei ARTE in voller Länge angeschaut werden kann. Aus “Gründen des Jugendschutzes” funktioniert das ganze allerdings nur zwischen 23.00 und 5.00 Uhr, daher empfehle ich allen Mac Usern an dieser Stelle mal das feine (kostenlose) Programm “Mediathek”.

The Wolfpack is back! Oder auch: der erste Teaser Trailer zur Fortsetzung der Comedy-Überraschung aus 2009: “The Hangover Part II”.

In “The Hangover Part II,” Phil (Bradley Cooper), Stu (Ed Helms), Alan (Zach Galifianakis) and Doug (Justin Bartha) travel to exotic Thailand for Stu’s wedding. After the unforgettable bachelor party in Las Vegas, Stu is taking no chances and has opted for a safe, subdued pre-wedding brunch. However, things don’t always go as planned. What happens in Vegas may stay in Vegas, but what happens in Bangkok can’t even be imagined.

Sucker Punch Trailer #2

Vermutlich muss ich mich nach Erscheinen des Films eines Besseren belehren lassen, aber diesem neuen, CGI-triefenden Trailer nach zu urteilen, glaube ich nach wie vor, dass “Sucker Punch” durchaus eine Menge Spaß machen und mein filmisches Guilty Pleasure für 2011 werden wird.

Commercial: Kobe Bryant in “The Black Mamba”, directed by Robert Rodriguez

The Black Mamba

“Bigger budget, bigger explosions” – “The Black Mamba” stammt zwar von Robert Rodriguez und kann mit einem Cast bestehend aus Mickey Rourke Danny Trejo, George Clooney Bruce Willis und Kanye West aufwarten, ist letztlich aber nur ein fünfminütiger Werbespot für Kobe Bryant bzw. dessen Schuhe.

Doch das ein solcher durchaus den Status eines Kurzfilms erreichen kann, zeigte im vergangenen Jahr bereits Alejandro González Iñárritu mit seinem “Write The Future” Spot zur Fußballweltmeisterschaft.

Apollo 18 Trailer

Apollo 18

Ich hätte ja nichts gegen einen guten Sci-Fi-Horror-Film einzuwenden, und der Trailer zu “Apollo 18″ weckt durchaus leise Hoffnungen.

Officially, Apollo 17, launched December 17th, 1972, was the last manned mission to the moon. But a year later, in December of 1973, two American astronauts were sent on a secret mission to the moon funded by the US Department of Defense. What you are about to see is the actual footage which the astronauts captured on that mission. While NASA denies its authenticity, others say it’s the real reason we’ve never gone back to the moon.

Hesher Trailer

“Hesher” von Spencer Susser, dessen Kurzfilm “I Love Sarah Jane” vom gesamten Internet hoch und runter gefeiert wurde, hatte bereits vor über einem Jahr auf dem Sundance 2010 seine Premiere. Nun wird er nach einigen Schwierigkeiten endlich im April in den USA in die Kinos kommen, weshalb wohl auch ein erster Trailer aufgetaucht ist.

Schöner Trailer zur Dokumentation “Circo” über einen traditionsreichen mexikanischen Wanderzirkus, der mit anwachsenden Schulden, nachlassenden Besucherzahlen und einem brodelnden Familienkonflikt zu kämpfen hat.

Thor Trailer #2

Epic or Epic Fail? Wir werden es sehen, wenn der Film am 28. April hierzulande in die Kinos kommt. Jedenfalls bekommt Kat Dennings im neuen Trailer zu “Thor” endlich mehr Screen Time, er ist also alleine deshalb schon besser als der erste :)
