Den Leak des Red Band Trailer zu David Fincher’s “The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo” wollte ich mir eigentlich sparen, und das kann ich nun auch guten Gewissens, denn unten habe ich für euch taufrisch die offiziell veröffentlichte und nahezu identische Green Band Variante. Da ich weder Buch noch Original kenne, kann ich dazu nur ein unvoreingenommenes und deutliches “Fuck yeah!” von mir geben. In den Hauptrollen des US-Remakes sind Daniel Craig und Rooney Mara zu sehen.

Da ich mir Peter Stomare in so ziemlich allem ansehen würde, brauche ich beim Coen-esquen Kleinstadt-Thriller “Small Town Murder Songs” wahrlich nicht lange zu überlegen.

Alles an “A Little Help” schreit zwar förmlich nach “yet another indie comedy”, allerdings konnte der Film bereits auf zahlreichen Festivals Preise einheimsen, weshalb vielleicht doch ein wenig mehr Substanz dahinter steckt, als der Trailer auf den ersten Blick vermuten lässt.

Ich bin bekennender George Clooney Fan, besonders bei seinen One-Man-Show Filmen, wie “The Descendants” einer zu sein scheint. Den zugehörigen Trailer finde ich dementsprechend wunderbar, und mit Oscar-Gewinner Alexander Payne (“Election”, “About Schmidt”, “Sideways”) als Regisseur dürfte da nicht wirklich etwas schief gehen.
THE DESCENDANTS is a sometimes humorous, sometimes tragic journey for Matt King (George Clooney) an indifferent husband and father of two girls, who is forced to re-examine his past and embrace his future when his wife suffers a boating accident off of Waikiki. The event leads to a rapprochement with his young daughters while Matt wrestles with a decision to sell the family’s land handed down from Hawaiian royalty and missionaries.
Den Reviews auf diversen Blogs nach zu urteilen, könnte der Horror-Thriller “Kidnapped” (spanischer Originaltitel “Secuestrados”) all die Versprechen einlösen, die “The Strangers” seinerzeit brach. Im Gegensatz zu diesem scheint mir der Trailer hier auch nicht voller Spoiler zu sein und kann daher bedenkenlos empfohlen werden. Er erscheint bei uns bereits übermorgen auf DVD.

Der Trailer zu “Salvation Boulevard” sieht in der Tat ein wenig nach “toller Cast, mieser Plot” aus, allerdings muss der Film alleine aufgrund besagten Casts hier erwähnt werden. Pierce Brosnan, Ed Harris, Greg Kinnear, Marisa Tomei und Jennifer Connelly – mehr muss ich dazu eigentlich nicht schreiben.

“Take Shelter” ist nach “Shotgun Stories” bereits die zweite Zusammenarbeit von Regisseur Jeff Nichols und Hauptdarsteller Michael Shannon. Der Trailer sieht auf eine positive Art verstörend aus, und auch die Kritiker sind nach diversen Festival-Screenings voll des Lobes.

Nach dem Teaser vom August letzten Jahres gibt es nun einen ersten – leider Spoiler-gespickten – Trailer zum von Guillermo del Toro produzierten “Don’t Be Afraid Of The Dark” Remake. Könnte durchaus was werden und mein Katie Holmes Crush ist ja trotz ihrer Gehirnwäsche zum dauergrinsenden Scientology-Zombie ohnehin nie gänzlich verflogen…
Based on the 1973 telefilm that del Toro believes is the scariest TV production ever made, the story follows Sally (Madison), a young girl who moves to Rhode Island to live with her father (Pearce) and his new girlfriend (Holmes) in the 19th-century mansion they are restoring. While exploring the house, Sally starts to hear voices coming from creatures in the basement whose hidden agenda is to claim her as one of their own. Akin to del Toro’s PAN’S LABYRINTH, DON’T BE AFRAID OF THE DARK focuses on a young girl’s struggle against menacing and terrifying forces.

Ein gelungener Science-Fiction-Film aus Deutschland? Irgendwie heutzutage eher schwer vorstellbar, doch in Gestalt von Damir Lukačevićs “Transfer” könnte dies durchaus der Fall sein. Der Trailer sieht nämlich ziemlich toll aus und Preise auf diversen Filmfestivals stehen auch bereits zu Buche.
Deutschland in der nahen Zukunft. Der Gentechnikfirma “Menzana” gelingt mit dem Persönlichkeitstransfer der entscheidende Schritt hin zur ewigen Jugend. Für den hochbetagten Hermann und seine schwerkranke Frau Anna wird der uralte Traum vom ewigen Leben wahr. Bei “Menzana” kaufen sie für eine Million Euro die jungen, attraktiven Körper von Apolain und Sarah. Durch den Transfer erhalten Hermann und Anna am Tage die Kontrolle über die beiden Schwarzafrikaner. Nur nachts können Apolain und Sarah für vier Stunden wieder sie selbst sein …

Sehr guter Trailer zur auf einer wahren Geschichte basierenden Dramedy “50/50″ über einen Mittzwanziger und dessen Verarbeitung einer unerwarteten Krebsdiagnose. Neben Joseph Gordon-Levitt in der Hauptrolle als Adam Schwartz sind unter anderem Seth Rogen, Anna Kendrick und Anjelica Houston zu sehen. Regie führte Jonathan Levine, der mir mit den beiden unterschätzten “All The Boys Love Mandy Lane” und “The Wackness” bislang gut in Erinnerung geblieben ist. Vorab noch die Plot-Zusammenfassung von der IMDb:
25 year old Adam Schwartz (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) lives a nice and simple life. He has a beautiful girlfriend named Rachel (Bryce Dallas Howard) and works at a museum with his best friend Kyle (Seth Rogen) who complicates his life in annoying but humorous ways.
However, he is soon diagnosed with a rare type of cancer. Considering his young age and healthy lifestyle, Adam has a hard time believing this is happening to him. With no other choice, he decides to start chemotherapy and fight for his life. He breaks the news to his parents, friends and Rachel, who all support him.
To get his mind off of things, Adam begins seeing Katie (Anna Kendrick) a cute 26 year old medical student who is helping him cope with the psychological side effects of chemo. As time goes on and his vitality and health slowly fade, Adam comes to terms with his life and illness. While fighting the cancer he begins to appreciate what he has in life, especially the things he took for granted before his battle.

Trailer zur Quentin Tarantino Dokumentation “The Disciple of Hong Kong”, welche hoffentlich nicht nur im französischen Fernsehen zu sehen sein wird.
The influence Hong Kong cinema has had on Quentin Tarantino has never been a secret. Kill Bill made the director’s love affair explicit but observant fans had long since recognized the influence of Ringo Lam’s City On Fire on Tarantino’s Reservoir Dogs and there have been numerous other nods to films of the region in Tarantino’s work. And now a French directorial duo who refer to themselves simply as Jac & Johan are tackling Tarantino’s relationship with the region head on with a produced-for-French-TV documentary titled simply Tarantino: The Disciple Of Hong Kong.
Occasional Twitch contributor Frederic Ambroisine worked as an associate producer on this, helping the directors line up and impressive array of interviews on the subject, talking to stars like Simon Yam and Gordon Liu, scholars such as David Bordwell, Hong Kong International Film Festival director Roger Garcia and – in a major coup – City On Fire director Ringo Lam himself, with Lam giving his first on camera interview in ten years for the film.
